A couch is an upholstered item of furniture for the comfortable seating of more than one person and typically has an armrest on either side. Couches are usually to be found in the family room, living room, den or the lounge. They are covered in a variety of textiles or in leather.

 

The most common types of couches are the loveseat (or British two-seater), the settee or sofa (2 or more seats).     1、看包浆是否自

然。一般在使用者的手经常抚摸的位置，会出现自然形成的包浆。新仿的包浆要么不自然，要么在不常抚摸的地方也出来了。

    2、看家具的底板和抽屉板。比如老的桌子等，底板和抽屉板就有一股仿不像的旧气。也有涂哑光黑漆的，但绝对没有火气。再则看抽屉侧板，在侧面应该有倒角线以免伤手。

    还有一点很重要，看明榫，过去的榫眼都是方的，锁住榫头的是梢子。如果看到榫眼两头圆的，就说明是机器加工的，肯定是新仿的。

    3、看木纹。有些家具表面会出现高低不平的木纹，但要看仔细了，是否用钢丝刷硬擦出来的，是否与原有的木纹对得起来。硬擦的木纹总有一种不自然的感觉。

    4、看翻修痕迹。有些布面的椅子在翻新后，原有的椅圈会留下密密麻麻的钉眼，这种椅子就是老的。有些藤面椅子，原来的藤面烂掉了，会留下穿藤的眼子，翻过来就可以看到。

    5、看铜活件。老家具的铜活件如果是原配的，应该被手摩挲了几十年甚至几百年。

    铜活件包括面页、合页、铰链、拉手、包角、镶条、锁面等，有些材质较好的家具还会选用白铜打造，时间长了会泛出幽幽的银光，令人遐思。

    有些铜活件上会錾出各种图案，有动物、花卉、吉祥字符等，工艺之精，是今天的铜匠很难仿得像的。

    6、看雕刻。从风格和雕刻水平上考察。过去家具制作时在工时上放得比较宽，工匠的心态也相当平静，精雕细刻，圆润自然。而如今新仿的家具，为了降低成本，往往赶时间，在雕刻上就会露马脚，在中式家具中，圆不够顺畅，方不够坚挺
